The Lompoc Valley Botanic & Horticultural Society will hold its next meeting on Sunday, March 15, at 2pm. Meetings are held in the Fireside Room at the First United Methodist Church, located at 925 North F Street in Lompoc. All are invited to attend. Shelby Wild from Explore Ecology will speak on teaching gardening. Ms. Wild is one of two Garden Educators working at Lompoc schools. She currently manages 4 school gardens, three under Explore Ecology and one with the support of the Village Farmers Market Association. She teaches about 20 lessons a week to an average of about 450 students who plant, harvest fruits and vegetables and maintain the gardens. LVBHS members are already planning their Annual Plant Sale so save the date for April 19th from 1-4pm. Plants are donated by Floranova Ltd., Becky's Creative Landscape & Design, Cabrillo H.S. and other LVBHS members.
